PRINCE ALBERT STRINGS

The rebirth of the Prince Albert Strings began in 1995. Although it was an adult orchestra the first year, the Youth Orchestra was established the following year. It is open to violin, viola, cello or bass players of any age, who are able to read music. The group performs at various functions in and around the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Area. Regular rehearsals are scheduled for Thursdays at 6pm in the Optimist Centre (Exhibition Grounds)

P.A. Strings Program / Performance Highlights

  • Plaque for 5 years of Loyal and Valuable Volunteer Service to the Prince Albert Health District
  • Barn Dances for Discoveries Children's Festival in P.A. and for Seniors at the Heritage Drop-in Centre (PA)
  • Performances at the Youth Rising Star Show at the PA Winter Festival - (3 consecutive years)
  • Opening Ceremonies for the Western Canada Summer Games
  • Private functions and Christmas parties
  • Joint Concert with the Regina Mandolin Orchestra
  • Year End school tours and concerts
  • Fundraisers for Telemiracle, 4-H Clubs and Local Community Halls
  • Performance of the national anthem for the P.A. Raiders- Western Hockey League Team
  • Openers for SaskExpress ensemble at the PA Children's Festival and PA Winter festival
